Make-Up Haulin'

Recently I went shopping. I say this like it's a rare occurrence. Truth is, I actually go shopping much more than I should, but have never shared the results of a spree with you before. So here is my first 'haul' as such:

First I went to MAC because I was feeling a bit meh and wanted my face reapplying. I always like visiting higher end makeup counters because the chance to properly try out a product before you buy it is something I find very useful. The problem occurred here when the salesgirl used all of the above products on me and I bought the lot. I was on the hunt for a perfect red lip colour and she suggested trying the Cherry lip pencil underneath Viva Glam 1, which is a gorgeous matte red. For the first time I didn't look odd and I really liked the finish. To go with my new pencil I needed a sharpener and the Duo Sharpener was the best value for money here. She then decided to show me a bronzer/blusher in one, the shade Love Joy and it's beautiful, I love how it's got a dual purpose! To bring the blusher/bronzer and lips together she applied a gorgeous smokey eye using the top two of the eyeshadow pans above, Embark and Coppering. I then decided that Club was too beautiful to leave on the stand and that came home with me too. The kabuki powder 182 brush was bought on a complete whim at the till - oops!

I then braved it and went to Newcastle's Eldon Square Boots (on a Saturday I might add!) and wrestled the Christmas shoppers out of the way to come out with these beauties. I'm obsessed with Maybelline's new Fit Me base range (review to follow) so I bought the corresponding concealer and a lighter foundation shade to finish off my collection. I then decided I absolutely needed another black eyeliner and picked up the new Maxfactor Colour X-Pert waterproof eyeliner. I'm also currently obsessed with lip products, and the two nude Natural Collection lip-glosses at the top were begging me to put them in my basket, perfect for a little lip pick me up. I then procured a Barry M Lip Paint in 157 and yet another of Revlon's buttery goodness with a Lollipop Lip Butter. No face is ever complete without the right tools to apply it, so the next two of the 'which Real Techniques brushes don't I own yet' quest ensured the Expert Face brush and the Blush brush also made their way to the till. Boots buy one get one half price you are naughty!

This next purchase was a bit of a bargain. I meandered into TKMaxx 'cause I know that they often have some amazing deals on toiletries, as well as the odd Essie polish and the like. I was aware that Jemma Kidd's make-up line was going a bit under the weather and managed to spot this perfect bronzing trio for a mere fiver (RRP £20). Before this I didn't own any bronzer so this is an amazing bargain!

My final piece d'resistance is my first ever purchase of a Nars product, the well aclaimed Albatros highlighter. I can't go a day without highlighting my face, it's the epitome of radiance and I really dislike the entire matte face look. I love this already, but did think it was going to be bigger for some reason (!?).

So there's a look into the millions of £££ I spent. Emotional shopping is never good, but hey, I now have pretty new things!

Ps. I apologise for the poor quality of these photos, I definitely forget it get's dark super fast!

Do you have a tendency to emotionally shop?
Bought anything exciting lately that I should know about?

    1. I love it too! I want to try a more natural one next, perhaps go for 'medium' rather than a glittery finish.
