Perfect Winter Colour Combo

October through to February are my favourite months of any year, there's nothing I love more than curling up on the sofa with a good book and a cup of hot chocolate and praying it won't snow. See, as much as I love the wintery months and being cold, I bloomin' hate snow!

During the winter months I also find myself toning down the colours of my nail polish to match either my mood or the weather. I'm not usually one to have a completely different everyday make-up routine specifically for each change of season, but winter just promotes more smokey eyes, dark lips, and dark nails in my opinion. (Unless it does actually snow, and then I enjoy a bit of white polish with silver glitter - the Models Own Wonderland collection is entirely perfect for this!)

This particular colour combination is my ultimate favourite for this time of year. It teams the deep burgundy red tones of Christmas and dark nights, with the sparkle, glitz and glam of the festive time of year. I know it's only November 2nd but already I want to don my Christmas jumper and run to Greggs for a festive bake!

The Rimmel polish is part of their Lycra Pro range, in the colour 410 Trend Spotting. It's available from any good Rimmel stand and I found mine in Boots for £4.59. It has a lovely wide brush for incredibly easy application, and the consistency of the polish is not too gloopy or runny - spot on Rimmel!

The OPI polish is an I Lily Love You minature from the 2011 OPI Nice Stems summer collection. If I remember rightly I bought mine from Amazon for around the £10 mark for the little set that they brought out back in the summer of 2011. I believe you can still find some Ebay sellers offering the miniature collection for around £14.

Now that my nails are dry, excuse me while I run and put on my woolly jumper and read my uni notes, hot chocolate and warm chicken soup in hand...

Have you got a favourite colour combination at the moment?
