10 Things I Can't Bare To Live Without

I love getting to know other's bloggers' personalities through their posts and style of writing. We can all type out our thoughts about the latest beauty product, but we're not all reviewing machines, we're human too! So here is a little insight into the material things in my life I can't bare to live without!

A Good Moisturiser - When you have skin as dry as the Gobi or the Sahara there's always one base layer you're never going to forget, the insurmountably important moisturiser stage that happens pre primer. I'm a big fan of heavy duty (but not heavy weight) moisturiser and to date I have not yet found the perfect one. However my current go to is Benefit's Total Moisture Facial Cream. I haven't found the time to fork out £26.50 for the full sized version yet though, I might save my Boots points for that, but I do like buying the £10 kits of the travel sized versions of all of Benefit's skincare. This moisturiser smells amazing, so fresh and luxurious.

Mascara - If I only had to apply one product to my face it would be a good mascara. I love brushes with plastic bristles, I think that they work so much better, clump less and really coat each lash individually. Full marks to Benefit's They're Real, I need to buy another one.

Perfume - Coco Chanel once said that A woman who does not wear perfume has no future (or something like that) and I am a great believer is smelling as nice as you look. I like my perfumes to be sweet, along the lines of Prada's Candy, or Jack Wills' English Velvet - yummy!

Brow Filler- Does anyone else feel like they don't look complete without their brows filled in or treated? When I started to fill in my eyebrows it was like I was seeing my face for the first time, it was amazing. I'm not fussed on what works and what doesn't, stencils, eyeshadow, brow shadow, gel, pencil - I've tried them all. I mostly like to use a small angled brush and my HD Brows kit, or light to medium brown shadow.

Candles - Candles add a bit of character to a room I believe, as well as making your space smell lovely and feel relaxing. As I love sweet scents, I'm a big fan of Yankee's Chocolate Bunnies, Red Velvet Cupcake and Vanilla & Lime, but my all time repurchase has to be Jelly Belly's Toasted Marshmallow...mmm, I love it so much.

Chocolate Milk - This is definitely a guilty pleasure of mine that stems from when I used to live in Saudi Arabia and chocolate milk cartons were cheaper than water in the shop at SR1, which is something like 17p. I was a teenager at that point, and forgetting to eat lunch when you're spending hours in the sunshine in a pool during the summer holidays means that you can drink all of the chocolate milk that you want! I've tried to cut down on my addiction now though, it's not the same spending £1.09 or £1.75 on a bottle of Yazoo or Frijj :'(

My Book Of Lists - I cannot survive without list making, I literally need it to breathe. Sounds strange, but I hate feeling that I might forget to do something so if I write to-do's for the day, or things to pack, lists of things to achieve that week and even lists of things to do for the entire month. Books/Kindle - I've always been a bookworm. My mum used to sit me in a box when I was little, give me a book or two and I'd stay there all afternoon, no crying, no boredom. I've not been reading as much as I'd like to lately because I feel guilty when I don't read anything that's related to my degree what with coming to the end of it and all. I have a massive list of 'must-reads' for the end of June though!

Handbags - I'm such a bag lady. I have too many to carry, and am constantly coveting more, namely a Mulberry Bayswater or a Michael Kors Tote at the moment!

Hope - This might be a little bit of an odd thing to be unable to live without but if you know me, you know that I don't give up on things easily, if at all. In fact the only thing I have really given up on in a detrimental sense is any sort of a weight loss programme...but I am slowing getting back on it, -5lbs this Christmas! I didn't give up on my degree when I hated it so much, I haven't ever given up on my long distance relationship despite going through some difficult times, and I certainly don't want to give up on my dreams. That sound's corny, but it's true. As long as things are relatively attainable I see no reason why people should feel downtrodden if something doesn't quite go right. One of my favourite sayings is a Chinese proverb - 'Fall down seven times, stand up eight'. Always hold on to hope!

  1. i love how you combined other things apart from make up,i started to read this & thought ohit's just another version of favourites, but i loved it! such a unique post. i really want to try the high definition brow... i think i might be purchasing that soon. i'm totally with you on the whole "i don't feel right until i do my brows", in fact not too long ago as an experiment i got my boyfriend to take a photo of half of my face where my eyebrow was filled in and the other half where it wasn't and the half where i had it filled it looked completely different! it changes your whole face.
what kind of lists do you have in your little list book? =)

  9. I couldn't agree with you more on the brow front! I kept going on about it and my boyfriend thought I was mental! Then I got my eyebrows tattoed and he understood what I meant!

  11. Lovely post! I am in the same boat in regards to moisturizer. I have such a hard time with my skin being dry and still to this day have not found a moisturizer that will do the job. I too like the fact that you combined others things other than just makeup/beauty into this post. Got your link from the bbloggers chat today, you have a new follower. :)
